For residents living on Cherry, Date and Evergreen Streets, as well as 5th Avenue, Gator Rubbish trash service along these routes will NOT be affected by the concrete and paving work being done by Quality Paving. However, please be cautious around the newly poured concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter as the concrete continues to cure. STREET & UTILITY WORK UPDATE!!!
(1-29- 2010 / 1:00pm)
Several street related projects are currently underway in and around the Cherry, Date, and Evergreen Streets area, as well as 4th and 5th Avenues. The planned work shedule is as follows (weather permitting):
WEEK OF JANUARY 31 - FEBRUARY 6
The intersection at Date Street and 5th Avenue will be closed from Friday, January 29th thru Friday, February 5th. Thru traffic will not be allowed, however, local traffic will be allowed to enter from the north at SH 52 and from the south at 4th Avenue.
Concrete work for curb, gutter and sidewalks affecting Cherry, Date, and Evergreen streets, along with 5th Avenue, will require residents to use alley ways between those affected streets. Street parking and driveway access will not be permitted while concrete is being poured.
Fiber optic cable work affecting Evergreen, Date and 4th is currently underway, with expected completion around February 3rd.
WEEK OF FEBRUARY 7 - 13
Concrete work will continue along Cherry, Date, and Evergreen Street, and along 5th Avenue. Parking along streets and in driveways will most likely be restricted or prohibited. Please use the available alley way space.
WEEK OF FEBRUARY 14 - 19
Final street prep work will continue on Cherry, Date, Evergreen and 5th Avenue as well as actual street paving. The paving process will be completed in two stages, with two separate lifts being applied. During the paving process, the affected street areas will be closed to traffic until the asphalt has time to cure.
We regret any inconvenience this work may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding. Please check back often for the latest construction and paving updates! In the meantime, if you have any questions please call Town Hall at 303-536-9311.
The Town is seeking qualified applicants for an entry level position in the Public Works Department. This is an opportunity for someone who is genuinely interested in pursuing a career in utility operation and in becoming licensed to operate water and wastewater facilities. Responsibilities include a wide range of duties including equipment operation and maintenance, meter reading and repair, and support of all public works functions as needed. For more information on this position click on the following link: Employment Opportunity On Thursday, January 28th, an important milestone was reached in the Town of Hudson when the new wastewater treatment plant came online. With the turn of two knobs, Mayor Neal Pontius and Public Works Director Tim Hopwood activated the new treatment facility and began to accept wastewater flow. Velocity Construction work crews remain onsite to complete interior construction of this remarkable facility. The project's interior work is expected to be completed by the end of March 2010. Already into its third month, the Food Share America program continues to build momentum in Hudson. Food Share is a non-profit food purchasing program in which participants can save up to 50% on their grocery purchases. The significant savings are a direct result of Food Share America’s bulk purchasing power, along with the use of volunteers who help sort, package, and distribute the food. There are no qualification rules or membership fees required to join this program. Participants can chose from a wide variety of frozen meats, fresh produce and other grocery items as well as club-size packages. You pick the food you order each month and pick it up once a month a Hudson’s Town Hall. For more information click here.
